The Japan Local Government Center (JLGC) and CLAIR New York will host an online event “Footprints & Footsteps: 3.11 and the Future of Tohoku” from March 5-11, 2021.
It is an online screening of a series of documentary films about the Great East Japan Earthquake along with panel discussions. The press release says, “Many of these films are by or about JET Program participants, and all deal with various aspects of JET and other foreign support for Japan, sister city and exchange relationships, and recovery efforts in Tohoku.” One of the panel discussions will feature our own Crescent City and Rikuzentakata!
This is a unique opportunity to reflect on the Tohoku recovery efforts through the lens of grassroots diplomacy. Registration is free. For registration and the programming information, check out their website.
